Meirav Ong (b. 1989, Jerusalem, Israel) is an artist based in Syracuse, NY. Her work focuses on elevating voices and identities marginalized within patriarchal systems of religion. She uses textiles, clay, sound recordings and body-based performances to create sanctuaries for listening. Meirav is the cofounder and art director of the Well of Wills Collective, a platform for socially-relevant, feminist, community-driven artwork, based in Brooklyn, NY. Meirav received her BFA in Art & Design from the University of Michigan in 2012 and since has exhibited at various venues throughout the US, and currently showing at The Everson Museum in Syracuse, NY. She received an artist grant to the Vermont Studio Center in 2017 and scholarships to both Penland School of Craft and Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts this past summer.
